Adipex-P
Adipex (phentermine) is an anti-obesity agent intended for people diagnosed with obesity that did not benefit from following a diet plan and exercising regularly. It is supposed to be taken for a short period of time exactly as prescribed. You need to be aware of the possibility of some serious side effects taking place. They are quite rare but need to be reported to your doctor as soon as possible. The following ones are considered to be serious side effects: shortness of breath, unusual thoughts, unusual behavior, confusion, restlessness, uneven heartbeat, swelling, and rapid weight gain. Such symptoms as insomnia, diarrhea, dizziness, itching, nervousness, headache, constipation, tremors, and dry mouth are obviously mild and there is no need to call your doctor about them unless they become bothersome or change in intensity. It’s very important to discuss with your doctor the fact of taking any of the medications mentioned below, as this may affect the possibility of taking Adipex at all. Remember to tell your doctor about any of the following drugs you might be using currently: paroxetine, high blood pressure medications, protriptyline, imipramine, sertraline, doxepin, oral insulin medications, amoxapine, desipramine, oral diabetes drugs, fluvoxamine, fluoxetine, nortriptyline, trimipramine, amitriptyline, clomipramine, or escitalopram. Any health conditions or states you have are also supposed to be reported, including a history of drug or alcohol abuse, arteriosclerosis, an overactive thyroid, glaucoma, agitation, anxiety disorder, high blood pressure, heart disease, seizure disorder, a thyroid disorder, and diabetes. Taking too much of Adipex can cause a number of serious and highly unpleasant symptoms, such as irregular heartbeat, fainting, vomiting, convulsions, confusion, tremors, hallucinations, nausea, lightheadedness, diarrhea, confusion, and aggressiveness. If you think you may have taken too much of this medication, and get the symptoms mentioned – this means you should go to your local emergency center to make sure your symptoms are treated properly. Adipex is not supposed to be taken for many years in a row, and your health care provider will most probably start you on the lowest dose efficient for you, to make sure no side effects take place. However, some people – due to different reasons – take Adipex for a long time and sometimes get symptoms indicating that the dose is too high and it should be reconsidered. If you get such symptoms as insomnia, irritability, personality changes, hyperactivity, or skin problems, you will need to talk to your doctor about a dose reduction. In case you happened to miss a dose of Adipex, take it as soon as you remember unless it’s almost time for the next dose. In that case forget about the dose you missed and carry on with your treatment, as taking a double dose is not recommended. Try to avoid missing doses too often, as this may affect the success of your treatment.
